When Life Gets Hectic: How I Balance Family, Work, and a Little Self-Care
Life has been hectic lately from dropping my kids off at different places at different times to rushing straight into work meetings. The other day, I didn’t even make it to the office. I was only a few blocks away before I had to pull over and park so I could host a meeting from my car talk about flexibility! Despite the chaos, everyone got where they needed to go, and I eventually made it through my meeting, though I tried to play it cool while feeling completely worn out (and to top it off, I was sick). But afterward, my kids and husband really stepped up to take care of me. My daughter even drove me home, what a wild and wonderful moment when your kids become your chauffeur! I’m really enjoying this summer with them, even though my husband is in his busy season with work, so I haven’t seen him much. Still, I have one rule for myself when I’m sick: look good to feel good. My grandma always taught me that, and I live by it. So, I took some time for a little self care and pampering. I finally got my hair done after months of ignoring it those roots were screaming! Along with that, I’ve been using a few products that help me feel fresh and revived, from vitamin C masks to no more root concealers. These little pick me ups make such a difference. If you’re curious, check out the products I’ve been loving, they really help when you need a confidence boost on rough days. Yes, life is chaotic, but weekends make up for it. We walked 17,000 steps one day and 8,000 the next, and today I’m trying to squeeze in a few more steps despite the weekday rush. Life may be hectic, but I wouldn’t trade these moments for anything.
